Individual Psychotherapy in North Bay
A space that is entirely yours
Individual psychotherapy is a private, one-to-one conversation with a trained professional, focused entirely on you. It offers dedicated time to slow down, speak honestly, and explore whatever is weighing on you, without judgment and without having to perform or hold it together.
People come to individual therapy for many reasons. You might be navigating stress, anxiety, or low mood. You might be questioning your self-worth, repeating patterns you want to change, or moving through a transition that has left you feeling unmoored. Or you might simply want to understand yourself better and live with greater intention. Whatever brings you, you do not need to have it all figured out before you arrive.
How I work with individuals
My approach to individual therapy is collaborative and paced to your comfort. Early sessions focus on understanding your story: where you have been, what you are facing now, and what matters most to you. From there, the work may include exploring past experiences, noticing recurring patterns, developing self-compassion, and identifying practical ways forward.
I draw on approaches such as cognitive behavioural therapy, compassion focused therapy, internal family systems, somatic therapy, and others, selecting what fits your needs rather than fitting you to a method. Throughout, the emphasis is on safety, honesty, and respect for your individuality.
Concerns I can help you explore
Individual sessions may be a good fit if you are experiencing:
- Low self-esteem or persistent self-criticism
- Stress, overwhelm, or difficulty coping
- Anxiety or low mood
- Relationship difficulties or recurring interpersonal patterns
- Life transitions, such as career changes, moves, or family shifts
- Questions about identity, values, or direction
- A desire for deeper self-understanding and personal growth

What to expect
Sessions are 50 minutes and cost $170. They are available in person at our North Bay office or online for clients anywhere in Ontario. Many clients begin with weekly sessions and adjust frequency over time in conversation with me.
Your first step is a free 15-minute consultation, booked through the online scheduler. It is a relaxed conversation to ask questions, share a little about what brings you, and see whether working with me feels right.
Frequently asked questions
How long are individual sessions, and how much do they cost?
Sessions are 50 minutes and cost $170 each.
How often will we meet?
That is something you and I will decide together. Many clients start weekly and adjust as the work progresses.
Do I need to prepare anything for my first session?
No. Just bring yourself. I will guide the conversation and explain how I work.
Is online therapy as effective as in-person?
Many people find online sessions just as meaningful. What matters most is the quality of the therapeutic relationship, which I prioritize in both formats.
How will I know if therapy is helping?
You and I will check in regularly about how the work feels and whether it is moving in a direction that matters to you. Therapy is a collaborative process, and your feedback shapes it.
