Women's Issues Counselling in North Bay

A space for the many roles you carry

Women are often asked to be many things at once: capable at work, present in relationships, steady for family, and composed through it all. The pressure to hold everything together can leave little room for your own needs, questions, or exhaustion. Over time, it is easy to lose track of what you want underneath what everyone else needs from you.

"Women's issues" is a broad term because women's lives are broad. You might be navigating a major transition, questioning your identity or direction, working through relationship difficulties, carrying the mental load of caregiving, or simply feeling disconnected from yourself. Whatever is most present for you deserves attention, without judgment and without minimizing.

How psychotherapy can help

Therapy with me offers a space where your experiences are taken seriously and explored on your own terms. Together you can untangle competing demands, examine the expectations you have internalized, and reconnect with your own values and voice.

For some clients, this means working through a specific transition or difficulty. For others, it means a deeper exploration of self-worth, boundaries, and the patterns that keep you putting yourself last. My approach is collaborative and empowering: I will help you understand yourself more clearly so you can make choices that genuinely fit your life.

I draw on approaches including compassion focused therapy, humanistic and strength-based perspectives, and emotionally focused work, always tailored to what you bring to the room.

What to expect when you reach out

Your first step is a free 15-minute consultation through the online scheduler: a relaxed conversation to ask questions and see whether I feel like the right fit. Individual sessions are 50 minutes ($170), in person in North Bay or online anywhere in Ontario.

Frequently asked questions

What counts as a "women's issue" in therapy?

There is no fixed list. Clients bring concerns ranging from life transitions and relationship difficulties to self-esteem, burnout, identity questions, and family pressures. If it matters to you, it belongs in the room.

Do I need to be going through something specific?

No. Some clients arrive with a clear concern; others arrive with a general sense that something needs attention. Both are welcome starting points.

Will I be judged for my choices?

No. My practice is explicitly non-judgmental. Therapy is a place to be honest about your life, including the parts you find difficult to say out loud elsewhere.

Can I bring concerns about my relationship to individual therapy?

Yes. Many clients explore relationship concerns in individual sessions, and I also offer couples psychotherapy if both partners wish to attend together.

Is everything I share confidential?

Yes, with a small number of legal exceptions that I will explain clearly at your first appointment.
